Size Matters
Snare wire length is not a literal measure. Sizing is listed using the same industry standards as "drum size" & "head size".
EXAMPLE - a 14" wire mates with a 14" head, which mates with a 14" drum shell... none of which are literally, exactly 14".
Snare with German heat treated wire for slightly more dry response. The "brassy" phosphor bronze end plates offer great tone and have "cranked" spots for snare cord to move through freely. This avoid choking the head or wire response.
